Product Update
It’s 2026. We have self-driving cars and machines that speak to us in English. Yet many insurance teams are still opening insurance carrier PDFs and typing commission figures into a spreadsheet, cell by cell. Why?
Not only is it frustrating and slow, but it stops the talented human brains within agencies from doing the strategic, high-judgement work that helps companies grow.
That changes today. AccountAim Ingest is introducing its AI agent for carrier statement data extraction. Our agent grabs carrier statements from portals, adapts to whatever their format is, checks itself against the totals of the source document, and knows when to ask for help from humans.
Why do I need an agent for carrier statement data?
With the variance of carrier statement formats, legacy tools break too easily. You build a template for each carrier, and the first time that carrier moves a column or emails a scanned invoice with a note scrawled in the margin, the template fails and a person gets pulled back in.
The AI agent is different:
- It adapts to format changes on its own
The agent recognizes new layouts and re-instructs its own parsing engine to read it correctly, right then.
Travelers changed their format this month. A year ago that meant a flagged file and a manual reconfigure before anything could process. This time the agent caught the change as it happened, adjusted, and kept going. Nobody touched it.
- It checks its own work
The agent validates it’s extracted subtotals against the statement’s own totals before the data moves forward, providing a human-level quality check.
- It knows what it doesn’t know
Across dozens of carriers and any format you throw at it, PDFs, CSVs, portal exports, even photographed images, the agent extracts 97% of line items accurately, straight through. The other 3%, say a figure handwritten in pen over a printed cell or a smudged scan, it won’t guess at.
Instead, it flags those for a person through a fast exceptions flow, so your team applies judgment exactly where judgment is needed. Raising a hand beats keying in the wrong number.
What this means for your firm: more revenue
Structured statement data is great, but it’s just the start.
Once the data is clean, Commission Intelligence reconciles it against your AMS and flags exactly where a carrier paid you less than your contract calls for: the underpayments, the sliding-scale errors, the true-up gaps that take profit out of your pocket.
Brokers are recovering 2 to 5% of their commissions in underpayments they never would have caught by hand. On a $50M book of premium, that’s around $200K of profit that was walking out the door every year.
Our agents work 24/7 to ensure you are maximizing collections.
What it looked like for ABP Insurance
ABP works with dozens of carriers. Every month each one posts a commission statement to its own portal, on its own schedule, in its own format. Some in Excel, some as PDFs, a few excess-and-surplus statements mailed in and scanned.
Pulling them all together used to eat the better part of the month.
The agent converted all 125 of those statements automatically. The data came out cleaner, and the hours that had gone into extraction went to work that actually moved the business.
“For twenty years, ‘automation’ in this industry meant a template that broke the first time a carrier moved a column. Our agent is different. It reads a statement better than your best analyst would and gets your analysts working on the strategic side of commissions.“
